Attending the program were Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai - Political Commissar of Vietnam Coast Guard; Major General Le Quang Dao - Commander of Vietnam Coast Guard and Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Youth Union.
In 2023, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command honored five outstanding young faces including: Captain Nguyen Thien Xuan (Coast Guard Region 1), Captain Nguyen Khanh Nhan and Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Hung (Coast Guard Region 4), Senior Lieutenant Trinh Thu Thao (Coast Guard Training and Professional Development Center) and Senior Lieutenant Pham Ba Quan (Coast Guard Staff).
At the same time, 6 promising young faces were honored, including: Captain Ho Ba Dung, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Duong, Lieutenant Nguyen Manh Toan and Senior Lieutenant Tran Van Ba (Coast Guard Region 2), Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quoc Thai (Coast Guard Region 3) and Captain Quach Minh Thao (Reconnaissance Group No. 1).
Among the commended examples, Captain Nguyen Thien Xuan and Captain Nguyen Khanh Nhan were honored as promising young faces of the entire army in 2023.
Born in Hai Duong, Captain Xuan has had a love for the military uniform since childhood and that dream has come true. Having held various positions, from deputy military captain, captain to training assistant, he always clearly defined his responsibilities and tasks, was proactive in his work, had a scientific working style, was energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
He directly commanded the ship to perform three combat readiness missions, in coordination with DK1 platform forces, the navy, and fisheries surveillance forces to chase away foreign fishing vessels violating Vietnam's waters, and five other patrol, reconnaissance, rescue, and search and rescue missions, traveling over 8,000 nautical miles, ensuring absolute safety.

Captain Nguyen Khanh Nhan is known as a modest and approachable young officer. Before being appointed as deputy political commissar of Squadron 401 (Coast Guard Region 4), he was an assistant to the propaganda department and political department - a typical nucleus in the unit's emulation movement to win.
At work, he always actively advises, proposes and performs well the work of propaganda and dissemination of laws, proactively coordinates with press agencies to propagate the results of the unit's task performance on mass media.
At the ceremony, Lieutenant Trinh Thu Thao also left her mark with the qualities of a "steel rose", always striving, actively and proactively studying, researching, improving her expertise and teaching methods. At the same time, she regularly innovates lesson plans, lectures, and methods of imparting knowledge to ensure that training is easy for students to understand, easy to remember, and easy to implement.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai commented that although they hold different positions and jobs, the young faces honored today all have one thing in common.
That is the spirit, will, determination and aspiration to rise up with very admirable achievements, worthy of being a typical example of the youth force, having a profound influence and spreading to cadres and youth union members of agencies and units.
