On December 5, in Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang), the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Quoc City and related units to inaugurate and hand over the 2024 great solidarity house to Mr. Dang Van Cuong's family in Ham Ninh commune.
Coast Guard Region 4 said that Mr. Cuong is a near-poor household, his family's economy is facing many difficulties, not enough money to build a house. Therefore, the unit, together with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Quoc City and related units, joined hands to provide financial support for his family.
After more than 1 month of construction, the level 4 house (with an area of 48m2 ) was completed with a total construction cost of more than 100 million VND, of which the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and the locality supported 70 million VND. The remaining amount was saved by Mr. Cuong's family and helped by relatives.
The new house is a great source of encouragement for Mr. Cuong's family to feel secure in doing business, developing the economy, overcoming difficulties and escaping poverty.
The Command of Coast Guard Region 4 added that this is a practical and meaningful activity, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024); 35 years of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
The unit also actively responded to the national emulation movement to join hands in "eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025.
