Nhon Trach Bridge belongs to component project 1A of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project.
This project is over 8.2km long (HCMC 1.92km and Dong Nai 6.3km).

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board (investor of component project 1A), there are 2 river bridges on the route, including Rach Chay bridge and Nhon Trach bridge, along with 4 viaducts on the approach roads at the intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, with a total length of over 3.7km.

Of which, Nhon Trach bridge is 2.6km long, spanning Dong Nai river, connecting Thu Duc city (HCMC) with Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province, is the largest bridge in the recently completed Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project.

Nhon Trach Bridge put into operation shortens travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai and neighboring localities.
When the entire project is put into operation and connected to the component project 3 of Ring Road 3 through Dong Nai, it will lead to Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, sharing the load with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway and National Highway 51.

Also according to My Thuan Project Management Board, component project 1A has submitted to the Prime Minister for approval to adjust the investment policy.
Specifically, investing in adding Nhon Trach 2 Bridge with a similar scale and parallel to the existing bridge to complete the 8-lane expressway bridge system across Dong Nai River.
This additional project is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to Tuoi Tre Online , near the Nhon Trach bridge construction area on the Dong Nai side, construction units are also urgently constructing bid packages belonging to component project 3 of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3.

Component 3 project connecting to Nhon Trach bridge is lacking materials.
The above project is over 11.2km long, including the construction of 5km of expressway connecting to component project 1A, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section at the intersection of provincial road 25B.
This project also invests in building 2 different level intersections connecting with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway and intersection with provincial road 25C... In 2026, the project will be put into operation.
According to the Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor), the locality has basically handed over the site for construction, but the biggest problem is still the source of raw materials such as fill soil, fill sand, and construction stone.
