Tet is here, pack your backpack and go...

Spring, the atmosphere of Tet, the taste of Tet always come early for journalists. Reporters feel the freshness of spring from a unique perspective, which is the transformation of each village, ward, commune, and locality; the strong mark of each industry and field; the joy and excitement of all classes of people; the expectation and belief in the breakthrough, comprehensive and sustainable development of the locality and the country.

After completing the ideas into programs, after the hustle and bustle of work, Tet comes... that's when journalist Vu Thanh Huong - Head of Events and Arts Department, Entertainment Program Production Department (VTV3), Vietnam Television and her family pack their backpacks and go to new lands, experience strange and interesting things, meet dear and affectionate people - that's the gift she gives herself, that's when she's most comfortable and at ease...

Very few years do Ms. Thanh Huong and her family stay home during Tet. Many years, the trips are combined with business trips during Tet. The weather in the spring days becomes gentler and warmer, the Tet atmosphere is everywhere and each person will choose how to enjoy that atmosphere to the fullest.

The most interesting thing is that in each region we passed through, we felt the different customs of celebrating Tet. A leisurely trip, not planning where to go today, or who to meet the next day, we went out randomly and comfortably. Coming to a place with attractive scenery, unique culture, stopping to admire the scenery and take pictures, if we were happy, we stayed longer, if we were not happy, we went home early. Therefore, everything was very pleasant and those moments were truly precious times to enjoy the spring atmosphere with family, blending with nature” - Ms. Thanh Huong shared.

Journalist Vu Thanh Huong believes that " The most interesting thing is the feeling on the way, not the destination" . For many years, Ms. Thanh Huong prepared red envelopes, toys, candies and lucky money for children along the way. There were years when Thanh Huong brought sleeping bags and food, because she had the experience of "being hungry" during Tet in some regions where there were no shops. " We stopped by a family to borrow a stove, fried banh chung, steamed sticky rice, ham, refried some spring rolls to bring along and gave lucky money to the children in the family. During Tet, everyone was open-minded and happy, the first stranger of the year became strangers at first, then familiar... " - Ms. Thanh Huong happily recounted.

Journalist Vu Thanh Huong believes that traveling is just a small thing, more importantly, trips will help journalists gain experience, perception and understanding - extremely valuable luggage. From there, it helps a journalist to search and discover many more interesting and unique topics when seeing with their own eyes, touching with their own hands and wholeheartedly feeling the beauty of natural landscapes, the hearts of compatriots, and the friendliness and affection of friends around the world.

Add more color to the spring full of aspirations

Since 1996, working for VTV3, journalist Vu Thanh Huong is currently holding the position of Head of Events and Arts Department - Entertainment Program Production Department (VTV3). Facing many pressures when working as a manager, producer, and editor, journalist Vu Thanh Huong has never thought of stopping this job, because the urge, responsibility of a professional as well as the passion and experience with the profession are the motivation for her to continue contributing day by day.

Journalist Vu Thanh Huong on a visit to Truong Sa.

In nearly 30 years of working in television, she has visited Truong Sa - the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland - 6 times. All visits to this archipelago have left journalist Thanh Huong with wonderful, unforgettable memories: " The days drifting at sea, the indescribable emotions when setting foot on the island or being moved when witnessing the hard life of the soldiers... My team and I try to explore and truthfully exploit interesting topics here to send to television audiences nationwide".

Recently, the program “Proud of Vietnamese Melodies: Growing up with the Country” directed by journalist Thanh Huong has been very successful in receiving the attention of a large audience nationwide. The program is a big brand of VTV, so Thanh Huong and her team have made great efforts to enrich the content with the desire to send a quality art program to the audience nationwide.

Each person will have a different way of expressing love for their homeland and country, but whether in peacetime or wartime, love for their homeland and country still retains its value and does not change, this love only grows in the subconscious, thoughts and soul of each person. Perhaps from the experiential trips, journalist Vu Thanh Huong has further cultivated her love for her profession, her love for her beautiful homeland, her love for her comrades and compatriots, so that she can create and dedicate herself to creating unique and heroic programs to spread that sacred sentiment to all people in the country.

And the coming of spring and Tet not only awakens thousands of trees and plants to sprout and bloom, and makes flocks of swallows flutter, but also awakens the will of revolutionary journalists. Through those leisurely and contemplative trips, many challenges in the profession seem to have disappeared. " Pressure now becomes a driving force, a measure for oneself to overcome in each journey to have a more successful and brilliant destination, contributing to embellishing the springs full of aspirations" - journalist Vu Thanh Huong confided.
