Visiting and congratulating the People's Representative Newspaper, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the difference of each newspaper will be the most important factor to survive and gain a place in the hearts of readers. Therefore, finding the difference will be the first and most important task of each newspaper.

According to the Minister, the country currently has more than 800 Newspapers and Magazines, so if there is no difference, they will be merged. The Minister hopes that the People's Representative Newspaper will continue to affirm its position, role and "difference", thereby aiming to reach a wider audience.

Sharing with the staff of the People's Representative Newspaper and National Assembly Television, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that one of the new advantages for press and media work is that there is now a separate spending item for media work. Accordingly, every year, agencies from ministries, branches to localities will have a budget to "order" from press agencies.

The Minister emphasized, "Communication is the function, task, and work of governments at all levels. Governments at all levels must have specialized apparatus and a regular annual budget to spend on that work through ordering."

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung added that on June 14, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 05/2024/TT-BTTTT guiding the development, appraisal and promulgation of economic and technical norms for public career services using the state budget in the press sector under the state management of the Ministry of Information and Communications, with the spirit of simplifying administrative procedures and unit prices equal to the market.

The Minister requested that the People's Representative Newspaper and National Assembly Television soon complete the economic and technical norms and submit them to competent authorities for consideration and promulgation to have additional sources of income and meet the requirements and assigned tasks.

Digital technology should be considered a force for journalism.

The Minister hopes that the People's Deputies Newspaper and National Assembly Television will continue to promote digital transformation. In particular, the team of reporters and editors must have knowledge of technology and use technology to make newspapers.

The Minister pointed out that the press needs to consider digital technology as a force for journalism, not as a support like information technology. According to the Minister, "A press agency that is called digitally transformed must spend no less than 30% of its resources (human resources and money) on digital transformation."

Editor-in-Chief Pham Thi Thanh Huyen hopes that the Ministry of Information and Communications, especially Minister Nguyen Manh Hung personally, will continue to pay more attention to the newspaper in the coming time, including promoting digital transformation in journalism.
