On March 6, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to review press and publishing work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
Attending and chairing the Conference were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, Member of the Standing Committee, former Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Education Department; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Education Department.
Reporting on the summary of press activities published in 2024, Mr. Tang Huu Phong - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that in the past year, the city has commended more than 300 articles and press works on issues with a lot of information about the city's outstanding issues.
The Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has recorded many proposals and recommendations from press agencies related to digital transformation; supported press agencies in arranging their organizational structure and proposed recommendations on supporting the distribution of press agencies under the City Party Committee after implementing the planning.
About publishing In 2024, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Coordinated with relevant departments to organize many key activities, such as: Ceremony festival Road Book TP Lake Ho Chi Minh Tet Armor Dragon 2024 ; organize exhibitions, introduce typical and outstanding achievements of the city to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the Party's founding ; a series of rich activities to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024; award additional prizes to publishing units and authors who won the 6th National Book Award in 2023.
According to Mr. Tang Huu Phong, in 2025, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will coordinate to organize many activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the Tet Book Street Festival in 2025 and celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Publishing, Printing and Distribution Industry (October 10, 1952 - October 10, 2025).
Regarding press and publishing activities in 2025, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phong - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association said that the city's press agencies and central, provincial and municipal press agencies located in the city will focus on coordinating to organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; participate in orienting and directing congresses of branches and inter-branch associations of journalists, towards the Congress of the City Journalists Association for the term 2025 - 2030.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Phong, the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association will launch extensive political and social activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, such as: organizing lively and quality seminars and workshops; meeting with veteran journalists; meeting with outstanding reporters and editors; organizing a press festival with many diverse programs;...
At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, on behalf of the leaders of the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee, commended and recognized the many contributions of press and publishing activities to the development of Ho Chi Minh City and the country in recent times.
At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi received and acknowledged many comments and suggestions from representatives of city, central and local press agencies regarding press and publishing work after planning and arrangement.
