After its establishment, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has reorganized and consolidated its internal organizational structure, thereby reducing 3 department-level and equivalent organizations, 4 division-level organizations, and 115 civil servants, public employees, and workers have registered their resignation.

This information was announced by Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Y Vinh Tor at the working session of Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on March 20.

According to Mr. Y Vinh Tor, immediately after its establishment, the Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions focused on leading and directing the timely completion of the Ministry's organizational structure. Based on the plan to establish the Ministry and the implementation status, the Ministry has arranged and completed the internal organizational structure, merged and dissolved organizations with overlapping functions and tasks, resulting in a reduction of 3 department-level and equivalent organizations (reaching 17.6%), and a reduction of 4 division-level organizations (reaching 36.3%). The Minister has issued decisions to appoint leaders of departments and units under the Ministry from March 1, 2025 and completed the structure, organization, and apparatus of departments and units under the Ministry.

Implementing the Central's policies and the Government's regulations, the Party Committee and the Ministry's leaders have focused on thoroughly grasping and implementing the work of organizing the apparatus in conjunction with rearranging the staff, civil servants and public employees, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency. Up to now, 115 civil servants, public employees and employees have registered their wishes to retire (retire and quit) to enjoy the policy under Decree 178; the first phase of retirement (March 2025) has been resolved for 20 people.

After the reorganization, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has 13 departments and units, including 9 units assisting the Minister in performing the state management function, and 4 public service units serving the state management function of the Ministry. In which, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs is a department-level organization, with an organizational structure of 7 division-level units; the Ministry Office and the Ministry Inspectorate have division-level units according to regulations.

The Department of Propaganda for Ethnic and Religious Affairs has two divisions headquartered in Dak Lak and Can Tho City. In addition, there are two units established by the Minister under his authority and five public service units which are specialized schools received from the former Ministry of Education and Training.

Currently, the total number of cadres, civil servants and employees of the Ministry is 998, including 5 leaders of the Ministry, 79 leaders at department level and equivalent, 221 civil servants, and 693 public employees.

On March 20, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia chaired a working session with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Regarding the results of the Program of coordination between the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization and the Party Committee of the Ethnic Committee for the period of 2021-2025, it has been effectively implemented, meeting the requirements set out; coordinated to advise on the completion of the assigned Project related to the ethnic sector, advised on and proposed a number of contents related to adjusting investment policies, a number of specific mechanisms and policies; coordinated to organize survey delegations, grasp the situation and results of the implementation of policies and guidelines on ethnic work, mass mobilization work in ethnic minority areas; the regime of information exchange and provision continues to be maintained...

The coordination between the People's Mobilization Committee and the Ethnic Committees of the provinces in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has been effectively implemented, in accordance with the actual conditions of each locality, contributing to improving the effectiveness of ethnic work and people's mobilization work in ethnic minority areas in the new situation.

Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia hoped that the two agencies would continue to inherit and promote the results achieved in the coordination work in the past period, achieving better and more substantial results, suitable to the characteristics and situation in the new period.

In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to and strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to strongly spread and raise awareness among ethnic and religious people and the whole society about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ethnic and religious affairs. Contribute to promoting the potential and strengths of ethnic and religious regions, ensuring the sustainable development of ethnic and religious people.

The coordination between the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission also demonstrates the responsibility to the Party in the field of ethnicity and religion.

The Ministry identifies the general goal of improving the material and spiritual life of the people, especially ethnic minorities in remote areas; ensuring equality among ethnic groups and respecting the freedom of belief, religion and non-belief of the people, solidarity, mutual assistance for development.
