The North-South Expressway construction project in the eastern phase of 2021-2025 through Binh Dinh province has a length of 118 km, including 3 component projects: Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon-Chi Thanh.
In particular, the XL-11 package of the North-South expressway project through Binh Dinh, Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon section, has achieved more than 55% progress, the work volume is behind schedule.
According to the Truong Son 5 Management Board (Truong Son Construction Corporation), the remaining volume is very large, with only about 7 months left to complete, so the unit must make more efforts to ensure the project's progress.
"We are determined to complete this section by September 30. The company has arranged 6 construction sites here, spread evenly along the route. Up to now, there are still 1.7 million cubic meters of soil and rock to be excavated," said a representative of the Truong Son 5 Management Board.
Currently, the other sections have been filled with crushed stone and paved with asphalt. The contractor is working day and night, working in 3 shifts and 4 crews.
To ensure the project's progress, Binh Dinh provincial leaders have also organized many field inspections, directed drastic measures to remove difficulties, and committed to providing maximum support in resolving problems.
Currently, contractors participating in the North-South Expressway Construction Project in the East phase 2021-2025 are focusing on constructing roadbeds, bridges, and culverts, speeding up the progress of important items.
Regarding the supply of raw materials, construction contractors have recently faced some difficulties due to the lack of construction materials. To ensure supply, Binh Dinh province has introduced 19 commercial quarries with a reserve of 29 million m3, fully meeting the demand. Currently, 6 quarries are being exploited with a total reserve of more than 18 million m3 and an annual capacity of 772,680n m3.
The Provincial People's Committee has granted permission to utilize 894,000 m3 of rock from the main excavation (the rock from tunnel No. 3 cannot be used due to its substandard quality). To compensate for the supply, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the increase in capacity of 4 mines (Binh De, Kim Thanh, Truong Thinh, Hoai My), adding more than 1 million m3 within 2 years.
The Provincial People's Committee has confirmed 62 locations with a total area of 222.26 hectares and a reserve of 10.824 million m3 for dumping, meeting the needs of the project. With support measures from the authorities, the supply of construction materials for the expressway project is fully guaranteed.
In addition, some residential roads and service roads have not been completed, causing difficulties for people. Regarding this issue, Mr. Truong Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, requested that investors have a plan to repair residential roads damaged by trucks carrying construction materials for the expressway. At the same time, it is necessary to clearly define the remaining time to have a plan to restore the road surface, ensuring stable life and activities for people.
