Closing ceremony of the 2025 National Chess Championship in Bac Giang - News details

On March 9, 2025, at the Bac Giang Provincial Convention Center, the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Chess Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang to organize the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Chess Championship.

Blitz chess competition scene at the tournament

The tournament took place from February 28, 2025 with the participation of nearly 240 athletes from 24 units from provinces, cities, industries and chess clubs nationwide. Athletes competed for 12 sets of individual medals, including 4 Chess competitions (Standard Chess, Rapid Chess, Blitz Chess, Super Blitz Chess) and 2 sets of medals for ASEAN Chess, MARUK Chess for men and women.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Bac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, awarded prizes to outstanding athletes in the ASEAN Flag event.

This is the strongest tournament in the official tournament system. After 10 days of competition, with the participation of many grandmasters, national and international masters, the tournament was a great success. The Organizing Committee awarded 12 sets of medals and sponsor gifts to the excellent players.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Chess Federation, awarded prizes to outstanding athletes in the Rapid Chess event.

Bac Giang delegation had 12 athletes participating in the competition and won 1 Bronze medal from player Cao Minh Trang in the ASEAN Chess women's category./.
