Bac Giang's resilience from planning
The Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee has just issued a Plan on the implementation of planning, construction, management and sustainable development of Vietnamese urban areas until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Accordingly, Bac Giang is identified as the central urban area in the Northeast of the Hanoi Capital Region, the gateway for import and export, and transit of goods between Hanoi and the Red River Delta provinces with Huu Nghi international border gate (Lang Son); an important business and trade hub of the region with the midland and mountainous provinces in the North.
According to the draft planning, Bac Giang urban area becomes a type I urban area (city directly under the province), the administrative - political - economic, cultural - social and scientific and technical center of Bac Giang province.
Bac Giang has many conditions for urban development in the future, including being located on the 110km Hanoi - Lang Son expressway. This is a vital route that helps transport goods from industrial parks in Bac Giang to the provinces of the Red River Delta as well as import and export agricultural products to China through Huu Nghi border gate.
In the coming time, the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang (Lang Son) border gate expressway section with a total investment of 11,024 billion VND will be deployed and completed in 2026. When completed, the entire Hanoi - Huu Nghi expressway will be connected, promoting trade. Bac Giang will also benefit from this route.
In addition, some routes in Bac Giang have been completed and put into use, such as the section connecting the Cau River overpass (Xuan Cam bridge, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province) to the Bac Phu intersection of the new National Highway 3 Hanoi - Thai Nguyen, completing Ring Road 4 through the province. The section of Ring Road 5 connecting to the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway is also being completed.

Thanks to its strategic location in the Northeast region, Bac Giang has become the leading locality in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region in attracting FDI capital and ranked 11th in the country.
