Arrest of Chairman and General Director of Thuan An Group

On April 15, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, to investigate the crime of violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences.

The Supreme People's Procuracy has approved the above decisions and procedural orders.

Defendant Nguyen Duy Hung was arrested during the investigation of the case of "Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences; Giving bribes; Receiving bribes" by the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03) at Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and related units and organizations.

In the same case, C03 decided to prosecute and temporarily detain Mr. Tran Anh Quang, General Director of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, for the crime of "Bribery".

Mr. Nguyen Khac Man, Deputy General Director of Thuan An Group, was prosecuted and temporarily detained by C03 for "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences" and "Receiving bribes".

The investigation agency also prosecuted and executed the arrest warrant for two officials of the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Traffic and Agricultural Works in Bac Giang province, including: Nguyen Van Thao - Director of the Board and Dam Van Cuong - Deputy Director of the Board.

Both defendants are being investigated for "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences", while Mr. Thao is being investigated for the additional crime of "Receiving bribes".

After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved the above decisions and orders, C03 served the procedural decisions, executed the arrest warrant for temporary detention, and the search warrant for the above people to serve the investigation.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is focusing its forces, expanding the investigation, clarifying the violations of the defendants and violations at Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and related units, organizations and individuals to strictly handle them according to the provisions of law and thoroughly recover assets.
