The University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UMP) recently opened its first French language class for students and staff of the medical and pharmaceutical sector. This is the first course in the cooperation program between VNU-UMP and the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Staff of the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi introduces the French language program for students and staff in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
The curriculum consists of two main courses: general French from level A1 to level B2; French medical terminology. The program helps students and trainees to practice French to participate in studying, practicing, and researching in training and research institutions that use French, as well as to have the ability to study, research, and self-study in the medical and pharmaceutical fields of the learners.

Mr. Arnaud Pannier said that medical students who are good at French will bring great opportunities for them, helping them have the prospect of participating in the intensive training residency program for specialists DFMS, DFMSA (formerly the FFI program). Over the past 30 years, about 3,000 Vietnamese doctors have benefited from this program (50 doctors this year alone).
Many doctors participating in the program are now leaders of the Ministry of Health, principals, directors, and heads of departments at major hospitals in Vietnam, contributing greatly and playing an important role in the development of the Vietnamese health system.
