On May 29, as part of his visit to China from May 28-31, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi held talks with host country President Xi Jinping.

During the meeting, Mr. El-Sisi and Mr. Xi Jinping issued a joint statement launching the "Year of Egypt-China Partnership" to mark the 10th anniversary of the upgrading of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The two leaders appreciated the signing of the Executive Program for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries for the next five years (2024-2028) in January 2024.
Mr. El-Sisi and Mr. Xi Jinping highly appreciated the effective cooperation within the framework of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, and welcomed the outcomes of the first China-Arab Summit held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) in 2022 and the resolutions of the conference.
The two leaders highly valued the cooperation within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. They agreed on the importance of upholding the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations (UN), rejecting double standards and unilateral actions.
The two sides stressed the need to promote international efforts to address serious challenges threatening global security and stability; achieve economic recovery; address food security, water scarcity and climate change; and combat desertification.
President El-Sisi and President Xi Jinping reaffirmed that Egypt and China will continue to cooperate to respond to the above-mentioned international challenges, strengthen cooperation in regional and global forums, including the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as enhance the role of emerging markets and developing countries in the international system.
Regarding the conflict in Gaza, Mr. El-Sisi and Mr. Xi Jinping stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the implementation of the two-state solution.
On this occasion, President El-Sisi and President Xi Jinping witnessed the signing of a series of cooperation agreements. With these agreements, the two countries will strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of technological innovation, communications technology and many other fields.
