(Dan Tri) - Located at an important intersection of the Nhon - Hanoi railway line, S8 Cau Giay station has more entrances and elevators than other stations, ensuring convenient and safe travel for passengers.
On the morning of August 28, the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) - the investor of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station line - said that the construction unit had completed the construction and installation of systems and equipment at 8 elevated stations of the line. Of which, the S8 Cau Giay station is the most special in the system because it is a transit station. According to the investor representative, the elevated stations are located on the road median strip, supported by 572 U-shaped beams made of reinforced concrete to minimize the impact on visibility, noise reduction, and weight optimization... With S8 Cau Giay station, the investor took advantage of this to design a pedestrian bridge to cross the street for people. In terms of form, the elevated stations have an overall design in the shape of a bird of peace. The stations are surrounded by green carpets, planted and watered automatically. Bougainvillea is the type chosen because it is suitable for Hanoi's weather and produces many flowers.
Compared to other stations, S8 Cau Giay station has a more connected system with 8 stairs to ensure passengers travel conveniently and safely in all situations. There are elevators on both sides for the elderly and disabled, escalators for children and passengers, and 4 surrounding staircases.
At station S8, the unit has installed all equipment to ensure ticket sales/returns for passengers, including: automatic ticket vending machines, door systems, ticket vending machines located at the ticket office, card generation machines, handheld ticket checking devices... People can buy paper tickets with cash or use a prepaid card to scan directly. The ticket collection system is designed according to European standards. With the automatic ticket collection system, when arriving at any station of the route, passengers can choose to buy many types of cards/tickets. Passengers will then go through the control gate performed by the automatic control system. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thi, Chief Representative of Phase 1 of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station project, said that the operation of travel cards for the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station route is expected to be integrated with all other elevated railway lines in the future. The special feature of this type of ticket is that it operates like an electronic wallet. People can choose to accumulate money in the ticket to travel. When not in use, people can still operate to get a refund to their bank account.
Most items of S8 Cau Giay station have been accepted for fire prevention and fighting. The official names of the stations are based on the geographical locations through which the line passes, including: Nhon, Minh Khai, Phu Dien, Cau Dien, Le Duc Tho, National University, Chua Ha, Cau Giay. In addition, each elevated station is also designed with its own image to promote and honor the culture of the capital. Sa S8 Cau Giay is designed with prominent interior images of animals associated with the location of Thu Le Park... Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB), said that the entire bidding package of the first phase project from station 1 to station 8 of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station line has been completed 99.7%. All component bidding packages of this project have also been completed over 99%. In the final stage, the unit is conducting testing, checking the card/ticket system, the technical system of the station and checking the entire train operation. The pilot urban railway line Nhon - Hanoi station started construction in September 2010 and is expected to be completed in 2016 with a length of 12.5km, including 8.5km above ground and 4km underground. However, after nearly 13 years of construction, this railway line has not yet been put into commercial operation. The total investment of the project has increased from 18,000 billion VND to more than 34,000 billion VND.
