An Giang opens the 2024 Sam Mountain Lady Festival

On the evening of May 28, in Nui Sam ward, Chau Doc city, An Giang province, the opening ceremony of the Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam 2024 festival was held and the 10th anniversary of the festival being included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage, 2014-2024.

Mr. Le Hong Quang - Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Le Van Nung - Chairman of the People's Council, Mr. Le Van Phuoc - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, head of the festival organizing committee also attended.

According to the organizers, the 2024 Ba Chua Xu Mountain Sam Festival is a major festival, imbued with the cultural identity, religious practices and spiritual cultural activities of local residents. The festival demonstrates the identity and continuity of the Vietnamese community in the process of cultural exchange and acculturation with the Khmer, Chinese and Cham ethnic communities.

The festival of Ba Chua Xu Mountain Sam is a traditional festival, preserved and practiced through many generations of Chau Doc people.

This year's festival will take place with many activities such as the lion and dragon parade carrying the statue of the Lady and the procession carrying the statue of the Lady of the Land on May 29; the bathing ceremony on the night of May 31; the ceremony to invite the divine decree and the Tuc Yet and Xay Chau ceremonies taking place on June 1.

According to Tuoi Tre Online 's records at noon the same day, visitors to the Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain this year went smoothly, security and order were enhanced. Shopping prices at the Ba Chua Xu Temple area were publicly listed.

The price of incense is listed at 5,000 VND per bundle, flowers from 30,000 VND/bundle, fruits from 80,000 to 250,000 VND/basket. In addition, visitors to the festival are also served free drinks from outside and inside the festival grounds.

Mr. Lam Quang Thi - Secretary of Chau Doc City Party Committee - said that he has directed units, especially security forces, to implement many measures and plans to ensure maximum safety for tourists coming to participate in the festival.
