An Giang cooperates in many fields with Cambodian localities

A working delegation from An Giang province recently visited and extended New Year greetings to leaders, officials and people of Takeo, Kampong Chhnang and Kandal provinces (Kingdom of Cambodia) on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the neighboring country.

Traditional New Year Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay are celebrated in many provinces and cities in Vietnam.

During the visit, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Head of the working delegation, wished the authorities, armed forces and all people of Takeo, Kampong Chhnang and Kandal provinces a happy and joyful traditional New Year; achieved great achievements in local construction and development, and people's lives became increasingly prosperous and happy.

Speaking at the meetings, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy said that the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship has been constantly strengthened and developed. Following that spirit, An Giang and other provinces in Cambodia have actively cooperated in many fields and achieved many successes.

With Takeo province, An Giang cooperates closely in the fields of agriculture, health, trade, sports, front work and mass organizations... The functional forces of the two provinces coordinate to maintain security and order on the border, creating favorable conditions for people and businesses on both sides to trade, exchange goods, and expand import and export markets. In 2023, the total import and export turnover through the international border gate Tinh Bien - Phnom Den, the main border gate Vinh Hoi Dong - Kampong Krosang will reach 1 billion USD. Regarding education, An Giang is currently training 5 international students from Takeo province at the university level.

With Kandal province, the two sides cooperate closely in the economic field, contributing to improving the lives of people, especially residents living in border areas. In 2023, the total import and export turnover through Vinh Xuong - Kaam Samnar international border gate and Khanh Binh - Chrey Thom main border gate will reach nearly 1.4 billion USD.

Regarding Kampong Chhnang province, according to Ms. Minh Thuy, although they do not share a border, An Giang always values and cultivates friendship with Kampong Chhnang, considering this a key factor to help the two provinces and the two governments successfully build a peaceful, stable, friendly and cooperative border.

The leaders of Takeo, Kampong Chhnang and Kandal provinces highly appreciated the support and cooperation of An Giang province for the locality in the past time. At the same time, they wished to continue to maintain and develop the increasingly strong friendship and cooperation in many fields with An Giang province.
