According to a quick report from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Binh Dinh province, on February 22, many fishing boats were trying to search for two fishermen who fell into the sea and went missing.
It is known that the fishing boat with registration number BD 97731 TS, with 5 people on board, is owned by Mr. Le Van Thai (residing in Tam Quan Bac ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province), authorized by Mr. Le Van Them from the same locality to be the captain, fishing for ocean tuna. The boat departed on February 18, 2025 at Tam Quan Border Control Station.
At 11:55 p.m. on February 20, 2025, while the ship was operating in the sea about 90 nautical miles northwest of Song Tu Tay Island, crew member Vo Van Tin (born in 1974, residing in Hoai Thanh ward, Hoai Nhon town) fell into the sea and went missing.
In addition, the fishing boat with registration number BD 94563 TS, with 24 people on board, owned by Mr. Nguyen Nham (residing in My Thanh commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh province), authorized Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan, residing in the same locality, to be the captain, practicing light purse seine fishing. The boat departed on February 16, 2025 in Vung Tau.
At 3:00 a.m. on February 21, 2025, while the ship was operating in the sea about 172 nautical miles southwest of Con Dao, crew member Le Thanh Tien (born in 1989, residing in My Thanh commune, Phu My district) fell into the sea and went missing.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Binh Dinh province said it is calling for support from all means to search for two fishermen missing at sea. Currently, two fishing boats BD 97731 TS, BD 94563 TS and fishing boats BD 94017 TS and BD 97107 TS operating near the area are assisting in the search but have not yet found the missing crew members.
