(NLDO) – 6/10 members of a family who went to the pagoda at the beginning of the year were robbed and beaten by a group of about 50 people.
On February 4, the authorities of Tinh Bien town, An Giang province, are investigating a case in which a group of about 50 people robbed and injured a family who went to the pagoda to start the new year.
The incident happened in front of the temple gate.
Previously, on the morning of February 3, An Phu Ward Police, Tinh Bien Town received a report from Mr. NPC (born in 1962; residing in Chau Phu District, An Giang Province) about a robbery and intentional injury that occurred at Kim Tien Pagoda, An Phu Ward.
Immediately, An Phu Ward Police arrived at the scene to check, verify and work with the victims.
According to the report of An Phu Ward Police, at around 9:00 a.m. on February 3, when Mr. C's family of 10 people arrived at the main entrance of the main hall of Kim Tien Pagoda, suddenly a group of about 50 people wearing masks pressed Mr. C down to snatch his necklace.
Mr. C. shouted loudly, then these people surrounded and beat C.'s family, then robbed a white gold necklace worth 3.6 million VND and 12 million VND in cash.
After the fight, Mr. C. suffered multiple injuries to his body, including a large bruise on his shoulder, a deep laceration on his left arm, and numerous scratches. Five members of Mr. C.’s family were also injured.
Considering that the case has signs of a very serious crime of robbery and intentional injury, the perpetrators are from outside the area, and their identities and backgrounds are unknown, An Phu Ward Police reported to the Investigation Police Agency of Tinh Bien Town Police to continue investigating, verifying, clarifying and handling the case in accordance with the law.
