On December 13, at the 15th session of the People's Council of Da Nang City, term X, 2021-2026, delegate Nguyen Thanh Phuc said that Da Nang's socio-economic performance in 2023 achieved remarkable results.
However, Da Nang still has many bottlenecks and obstacles for businesses. Land issues have been delayed for many years. The implementation of new projects, especially those with great impacts and contributions to the city's growth, cannot be implemented due to current regulations such as environmental impact assessment, fire prevention and fighting (PCCC), construction permits, etc. On the other hand, although the real estate market has been actively removed, the change is still very slow.
According to Mr. Phuc, Da Nang is considered an attractive destination for investors. The investment attraction results in 2023 increased compared to 2022, but are still modest compared to the city's position, potential and determination.
In addition, investment promotion work has not met between investors and the city.
To increase investment attraction in 2024, Mr. Phuc said that how to make investors feel secure and confident to invest in Da Nang with open mechanisms and conditions. The city needs to pay more attention to effectively implementing the newly announced resolutions and plans, removing "bottlenecks" in administrative reform to open up capital flows...
Mr. Phuc said that administrative reform is a systematic issue, aiming to improve the business environment. Through the investigation, unclear regulations, administrative burdens, unclear incentive mechanisms, different explanations... are issues of concern to investors.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tam, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Da Nang City, said that the solutions mentioned by the delegates are also the content that the city is focusing on researching and implementing in the coming time.
According to Ms. Tam, in the period of 2020-2021, the city was severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, the city's economy recovered and regained balance. However, in 2023, the city was affected again by the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and the difficult world economic situation.
Ms. Tam said that in 2023, the city had solutions to promote economic growth, remove difficulties for businesses and attract investment, but there were no results yet. From 2024, those solutions will be effective.
Ms. Tam admitted that the economic potential has begun to stagnate, and the city needs new momentum. Da Nang has identified and focused on building new spearheads and breakthrough policies and mechanisms to create new momentum in the coming time.
