Tra Cu is a locality with a large Khmer ethnic population, accounting for over 62%. In recent years, with the attention of the leaders of the Party, State and local authorities, the material and spiritual life of the people of Tra Cu district has been constantly improved. At the end of 2023, Tra Cu was recognized as a New Rural District. The average income of people in the district has now exceeded 70 million VND/year.
Speaking at the Ngo boat construction fund handover ceremony, Mr. Be Trung Anh - National Assembly Delegate of Tra Vinh province expressed his joy at being able to contribute to the campaign, helping the locality have more resources to take care of the spiritual and cultural life, preserve and promote the unique cultural identity of the Khmer ethnic people. At the same time, he hopes that in the near future, with spacious and modern facilities, the members of the Ngo boat racing team of the district will have more motivation to practice and compete to achieve high results, continuing to enrich the collection of achievements of the district.

On behalf of the Sponsor, Mr. Le Van Son, Deputy Director of Agribank Tra Vinh Branch, expressed his honor to accompany this meaningful and humane Program. He also added that in 2024, in addition to completing its business tasks well, Agribank Tra Vinh Branch also mobilized its staff, employees, and workers to contribute a portion of their salary to the Social Security Program of Tra Vinh Province, with a total amount of up to 4 billion VND. Of which, 2 billion VND was donated to the Fund for the Poor to build Great Unity houses; 1 billion VND to buy equipment to donate to schools in remote areas with a large Khmer ethnic population; Giving Tet gifts to poor households and policy families worth 800 million VND; and supporting part of the cost of building the Memorial Site of the late composer Vien Chau...
At the ceremony, Mr. Be Trung Anh and Agribank representatives presented 1.5 billion VND to sponsor the purchase of Ngo boats for local cultural and sports activities.
Mr. Truong Van Huy, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of Tra Cu District People's Committee respectfully acknowledged and thanked National Assembly Delegate Be Trung Anh and Agribank for their special attention and affection for Tra Cu District in general and the Khmer ethnic people in particular. The funding source from Agribank will be transferred to the relevant units to promote the construction of Ngo boats, ensuring quality, aesthetics, and progress, to serve well the cultural and sports activities - Ngo boat racing in and outside the area.
