According to Reuters news agency (UK), on December 4, the Ukrainian army said it had attacked oil depots in the Russian-controlled city of Luhansk the day before.

On its Telegram channel, the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that its forces had carried out a "successful attack", but did not provide details.
Earlier in the day, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported that the Ukrainian military attacked an oil depot in the area with drones.
A fire broke out after the attack but was extinguished, RIA Novosti quoted Russian-appointed authorities as saying.
Also on December 4, Mr. Mikhail Podolyak, Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine, announced that the country is changing tactics in the conflict with Russia, switching to defense in some areas and continuing the counter-offensive campaign in some other areas.
On social network X, Mr. Podolyak said that Kiev is currently focusing on accelerating domestic weapons production and accelerating negotiations with partners to strengthen the policy of providing military equipment.
In another development, on February 4, Reuters reported that European Union (EU) officials and diplomats said that diplomatic envoys from the 27 EU member states will meet on December 5 to begin discussions on a sensitive proposal to launch talks on Ukraine's membership.
The meeting is in preparation for the December 14-15 summit of the bloc's leaders to assess and decide on the EU integration prospects of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Bosnia and other countries.
Specifically, the meeting on December 5 began discussing the draft agreement of the leaders. EU diplomats and officials said that the first draft prepared for discussion will certainly have changes.
The original draft read: "The European Council decides to launch accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova."
As for Georgia, the European Council said that the country will get EU candidate status based on the fact that Tbilisi has fulfilled very high requirements.
For Bosnia, the initial draft stated that the bloc was "ready to enter into EU accession negotiations with Bosnia... when the country has reached the necessary level of meeting the criteria for membership of the union".
