According to the Radio Frequency Department, Ministry of Information and Communications, authorities have recorded many acts of using radio equipment without a license to use radio frequencies and equipment or not in accordance with license regulations.
Through inspection, examination and administrative sanctioning of violations of radio frequencies, the authorities have imposed administrative sanctions totaling more than 462 million VND.
Of these, 46 organizations and individuals violated the use of mobile repeaters (also known as mobile signal boosters).
The Radio Frequency Department recommends that organizations and individuals who need to use radio equipment, including equipment in the list of equipment exempted from licenses, such as: wireless audio equipment (wireless microphones), wireless image transmission equipment, radio identification equipment, radio remote control equipment... should only equip equipment with clear origin, with conformity certificates and conformity declarations.
For radio equipment not on the list of license exemptions, when used, a license to use radio frequencies and equipment is required, and during use, the equipment must be set to frequency and technical parameters in accordance with the provisions of the license.
Regarding mobile signal booster devices, people are advised not to equip, install and use them on their own to avoid causing harmful interference that can cause loss of connection, dropped calls or reduced mobile network access speed as has happened in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some other major cities.
In case of mobile phone not being able to contact due to weak signal, people can proactively notify directly or through the mobile network operator's switchboard for support.
