On September 14, VinaPhone announced that 97% of its mobile station infrastructure had been restored and that communications were uninterrupted in many localities. In Yen Bai alone, 100% of mobile signals were now available.
Previously, VNPT had synchronously deployed solutions to overcome the problem (transmission handling, ensuring power supply, ensuring infrastructure maintenance... Thousands of officers and employees of VNPT Group were mobilized to work day and night to overcome the network to ensure service for the people and the government.
However, during the information rescue process, there were some difficulties in areas such as island districts in Quang Ninh (Co To, Quan Lan...), Hai Phong (Bach Long Vi, Cat Ba), but VNPT implemented technical solutions and restored communication to all the above island districts.
Up to this point, due to the complicated flood situation, some communes in Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, and Hai Phong are still isolated. VNPT representatives said they are making efforts to reach these communes to fix the network and connect communications before September 20.
Regarding fixed broadband services, VNPT said it has deployed synchronous solutions to fix the transmission network. As of September 13, 97.4% of access devices on the entire network had been restored.
The number of active fiber optic internet subscribers has reached 1.91 million compared to 2.13 million before the storm (equivalent to 89.8%). Basically, provinces and cities have restored over 90% of the number of subscribers compared to the time before the storm, except for 3 localities that are still heavily affected: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Hai Duong.
VNPT representative said that they are closely following the progress of the electricity company to ensure the restoration of subscribers. It is expected that this network will restore the mobile broadband network before September 30.
Meanwhile, Viettel said it has restored mobile communications in all northern mountainous provinces since September 12. The number of stations and cable lines with disrupted information in the network in these provinces is currently less than 5% - in locations that have been severely eroded, completely isolated from roads and take a long time to reach.
Viettel network has been completely restored in the provinces of Bac Kan, Lang Son, Dien Bien, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen...
Viettel also prioritizes restoring communication and providing SIM cards in communes and districts as soon as landslides occur to ensure communication for rescue teams, such as Phuc Khanh commune, Nam Luc commune (Lao Cai), Ca Thanh commune (Cao Bang).
Depending on the actual situation in the coming time, Viettel will continue to have activities to support customers in areas affected by storms and floods...
