After being withdrawn in the 27th minute, Trieu Viet Hung received a comforting hug from coach Kim Sang Sik. The moment was very quick but left many issues about the use and testing of personnel in the Vietnam team.
Trieu Viet Hung is a rare position that was tested in the friendly match with Cambodia on the evening of March 19 in Binh Duong. Viet Hung played left back instead of Nguyen Van Vi (Nam Dinh Club).
Left-back is not Viet Hung's forte. The player born in 1997 started out as a midfielder at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club. When Hai Phong Club was short of players, he was moved to the left wing.
There is no denying that Viet Hung has played well in his new role under the guidance of coach Chu Dinh Nghiem in Hai Phong. But he is difficult to compare with a well-trained full-back.
When placed in a different tactical scheme and with different players, Viet Hung showed confusion. Coach Kim Sang Sik was forced to send in Van Vi, the "left wing machine" to immediately correct the mistake.
