At the end of the 2024 season, Sanest Khanh Hoa said goodbye to nearly 10 athletes, including key players such as Tu Thanh Thuan, Pham Quoc Du, and setter Dinh Van Tu.
To replace Thanh Thuan and Quoc Du, the team brought in opposite setter Le Van Thanh. In addition, veteran setter Tran Xuan Tan also returned to replace Dinh Van Tu. Despite the many changes in the squad, the team still has national players such as captain Duong Van Tien, libero Huynh Trung Truc or Brazilian striker Evaldro Dias Souza.
Not only that, Sanest Khanh Hoa also had changes on the coaching bench. Accordingly, coach Bui Quang Ngoc left and former famous player - assistant Ngo Van Kieu was promoted to head coach. New head coach Ngo Van Kieu said: "The pressure on me is very high when many key players left because the team's financial situation is not as secure as before. However, the whole team is in good spirit and physical condition."
In terms of strength, Sanest Khanh Hoa has a chance to enter the top 4, which means a ticket to the Hung Vuong Cup, after finishing round 1 of this year's season.
Coach Ngo Van Kieu shared: "This year, the clubs participating in the tournament have invested heavily with a series of quality foreign players. Therefore, it is very difficult for Sanest Khanh Hoa to compete in the top 4, so to reduce pressure on the athletes, the club's leaders only set the goal of staying in the league."
Historically, Sanest Khanh Hoa has won the National Championship 4 times in 2008, 2017, 2020, 2023. With a long tradition and high determination, staying in the league is a goal within reach of the coastal city team. Even if they perform well, coach Ngo Van Kieu's team can go far. Sanest Khanh Hoa will have their opening match against Lavie Long An on March 22.
2.28 billion VND bonus
The 2025 National Volleyball Championship is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will take place from March 22 to 31 at Dong Anh District Gymnasium (Hanoi). Phase 2 and the final ranking round will take place from October 10 to 19 at Ninh Binh Provincial Gymnasium.
The tournament has 8 male and 8 female teams participating, including: MB Border Guard, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Da Nang, Hanoi, Lavie Long An, LBBank Ninh Binh, Sanest Khanh Hoa, The Cong Tan Cang (male); Geleximco Thai Binh, Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals, LPBank Ninh Binh, Ho Chi Minh City, Thong Tin Dong Bac, Vietinbank, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement (female).
The teams will compete in a round robin format to rank from 1 to 8. At the end of the round robin, the top 4 teams will advance to the final round to determine the champion. The bottom 4 teams will compete in a round robin format, and the bottom team will be relegated to the 2026 A-Class Volleyball Tournament.
The total prize of the tournament is 2.28 billion VND. The winning team will receive 500 million VND, the second place team will receive 300 million VND, the third place team will receive 200 million VND and the fourth place team will receive 100 million VND (both male and female).
