Xiaomi just held the annual speech of CEO Lei Jun at ShouGang Stadium and launched the new Xiaomi MIX product line, Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip, which are two folding smartphones with Summilux cameras co-engineered with Leica.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 has achieved several technological breakthroughs in the manufacturing process. The innovative 3-layer, 5-surface motherboard design combined with large-area tin spraying technology enables the product to have high-precision solder joints, significantly improving the stability and durability of the circuit.
Superior performance thanks to the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and an improved 3D cooling system with an area of up to 11,912 mm 2 . Advanced vapor chamber technology quickly disperses heat, which is then evenly distributed through multiple graphite layers, preventing significant heat buildup. Powerful performance combined with an excellent cooling system ensures sustainable performance even when performing heavy tasks.
In terms of network functions, Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 is equipped with a powerful antenna architecture, including 4 industry-leading low-frequency receiving antennas and 4 Xiaomi Surge T1 signal enhancement chips. This is integrated with the Xiaomi HyperOS network system to ensure smooth communication in various locations and usage environments. Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 also supports two-way satellite communication, providing connectivity even in remote areas without mobile signal coverage. Xiaomi MIX Flip , a new member of the foldable smartphone market, but Xiaomi still brings impressive outstanding equipment. Xiaomi MIX Flip owns a 4-inch All Around Liquid external screen with a four-corner curved design, providing a comfortable grip experience. The external screen interaction has been restructured, allowing the screen to act as a "compact phone" with many useful functions without having to open the device.
The Xiaomi MIX Flip's external display meets modern standards such as: 1.5K resolution, 460 PPI pixel density, 120Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness up to 3,000 nits, Original Color Pro, HDR support and integrated eye protection features. These parameters remain consistent from the internal to the external display, ensuring a consistent user experience.
The external screen is also deeply integrated with the “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem. AI, Xiaomi EV and Mi Home applications are adapted to the external screen scenario, allowing users to manage daily personal tasks and control the status of Xiaomi EV and smart home devices.
This is one of the few foldable devices equipped with the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. To ensure comprehensive performance, Xiaomi has redesigned the 3D cooling system for Xiaomi MIX Flip: a 3,500mm² VC area with a unique “staircase” design quickly dissipates heat from the SoC; heat is evenly conducted through the double-layer graphite on the hinge, avoiding heat accumulation. Xiaomi's SU7 "aerogel" insulation material is used near the inner display surface of the "staircase" structure, effectively preventing heat transfer to the screen and improving the user experience when touching the screen.
Xiaomi MIX Flip uses Xiaomi's synthetic fiber material, providing firmness and durability. The middle frame uses the same 6M42 aluminum alloy as the MIX Fold 4, doubling the durability; Xiaomi Shield Glass and UTG ultra-thin flexible glass protect the outer and inner screens.
Equipped with Xiaomi x Leica's next-generation Summilux lens, the main camera of this product uses the Light Fusion 800 high dynamic range sensor. The product is also equipped with a unique Leica 47mm floating telephoto lens in a compact foldable device with a minimum focusing distance of 9cm.
