The Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at around $893 as a complement to the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro members launched in October 2024.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at around $893
Basically, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is an upgraded version of last year's model with the biggest highlight being the 200 MP periscope camera designed to work well in low light conditions. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be launched internationally along with the Xiaomi 15 series on March 2 at the MWC 2025 exhibition in Barcelona (Spain). However, there is still no specific information about the market where Xiaomi will distribute the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra continues to lead the photography game
Xiaomi's Ultra series has always focused on photography, even more than high-end models from Samsung or Apple, and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is no exception. The back of the phone is equipped with 4 cameras arranged in a large circular module with a design similar to Leica's professional cameras. The product has a two-tone silver and black finish, with a compact "Ultra" logo.

The 200MP periscope camera with 4.3x zoom is one of the highlights of the product, although it is a shorter zoom lens than the 5x periscope lens on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. However, the larger sensor, fast aperture and higher resolution promise to improve low-light photography. Xiaomi has even codenamed the phone "Night God", indicating a focus on low-light photography.
The remaining three sensors all have a resolution of 50 MP and are set up similarly to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, with some minor changes. Notably, the main camera has switched from variable aperture technology to a fixed aperture of f / 1.63.
Xiaomi also introduced the third-generation Photography Kit, which includes a camera case and grip, with a 2,000 mAh battery that can be used as a power bank for your phone. Despite some design upgrades, the core camera controls remain the same.
Third Generation Photography Kit
In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 6.73-inch screen with a refresh rate of 1 - 120 Hz and a maximum HDR brightness of 3,200 nits. The product also meets the IP68 standard and has a 6,000 mAh battery, with 90W wired charging speed and 80W wireless charging unchanged.
Xiaomi set the bar high for photography with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which was the best camera phone last year. So users are looking forward to what the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will bring, especially the periscope camera.
