Valve is about to launch VR glasses to play games without a PC

According to Wccftech , there are now multiple reliable sources confirming that Steam is planning to release the Deckard VR headset in late 2025. This is a standalone, wireless VR device and has an expected selling price of $ 1,200 for the entire product package, including some games or demos included.

Deckard will use the SteamOS operating system, which was developed for the Steam Deck, but will be customized for virtual reality. At the time, Valve founder Gabe Newell mentioned working on a wireless VR headset, and Deckard seems to be a step in that direction.

Deckard's price tag is roughly the same as the Valve Index when adjusted for inflation, suggesting that Valve is still targeting the high-end rather than the mass market. The standalone nature of the device could help expand its usability, but the high price tag could make it less accessible to the masses. Valve has not confirmed anything about Deckard at this time, and internal demonstrations may be taking place before an official announcement.
