Passenger cars in Da Nang speed 450 times a month

On June 22, the Department of Transport of Da Nang City issued a decision to revoke the badges of a series of transport vehicles violating speed limits.

Accordingly, through the results of data extraction from the journey monitoring device, the Department of Transport discovered that 55 vehicles belonging to 36 transport business units in the area violated the speed limit 5 times or more per 1,000km of vehicle travel in May 2023. Among them, there were vehicles violating the speed limit hundreds of times.

Specifically, fixed-route vehicle with license plate 43B - 038.89 of Hai Van Transport Service Cooperative violated the speed limit 450 times; container truck 43H-006.13 of Duc Thinh Company Limited violated the speed limit 221 times; fixed-route vehicle with license plate 43B-054.96 of Hai Van Transport and Tourism Service Company Limited violated the speed limit 191 times...

The Da Nang Department of Transport requires transport businesses that manage 55 speeding vehicles to return their vehicle badges to the Department and not use the vehicles for transport business during the time their badges are revoked.

In case transport business units are found to still use the revoked badges for transport business, they will be administratively sanctioned according to the provisions of law.

In addition, the Department also requires transport businesses to review and rectify the management of traffic safety monitoring units, and require drivers to strictly comply with regulations on speed and driving time...

At the same time, assign the Department Inspectorate, Department of Transport Management, vehicles, and drivers to monitor and urge the compliance with handling of violations by transport business units, and coordinate with competent authorities to strictly handle if these vehicles violate during the process of having their badges revoked.

Previously, in April 2023, the Department of Transport of Da Nang City also revoked transport badges for 57 speeding vehicles.
