Specifically, on February 27, 2024, the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Phong received information via the hotline about a person claiming to be a reporter, presenting a card to influence and ask to ignore the violation of driving at the speed limit at An Hung Traffic Police Station.

The Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate coordinated with An Hung Traffic Police Station to verify, handle and determine: Mr. D.TB was the passenger in the car driven by Mr. NVH, driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit.

Mr. D.TB introduced himself to the traffic police as a reporter and presented a hard card issued by Hai Phong Science & Economics Magazine, stating his position as a reporter. After that, Mr. D.TB asked the traffic police to ignore the violation, which affected the patrol, control, and violation handling activities of An Hung Traffic Police Station.

During the working process with the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications, after being informed of the regulations, Mr. D.TB realized his wrongdoing, wrote a commitment not to repeat the offense, and complied with the handling according to the regulations. The Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications made a record of the incident and confiscated the card.

To put an end to the use of documents and cards that can be confused with the Press Card, which negatively affects the honor and professional reputation of journalists operating in accordance with the law, the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Phong has issued a document requesting the Hai Phong Union of Science and Technology Associations to urgently inspect, review, revoke and cancel all cards issued by the Hai Phong Journal of Science and Economics during its operation.

Also according to the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Phong, in Decision No. 1092/QD-BTTTT dated June 30, 2020 of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry revoked the print press license of the Hai Phong Science and Economics Magazine.

Previously, on September 28, 2016, in document No. 3366/BTTTT-CBC, the Ministry of Information and Communications requested press agencies to inspect, review and rectify the issuance of documents and cards that are confused with the Press Card.
