Along with that, the treatment regimen for acute psychosis is also applied to students who suffer from it. Although the medical staff is still lacking and the staff has to take on many tasks, the primary health care and treatment for sick students as well as students who come in for withdrawal are always guaranteed and implemented in accordance with the treatment regimen of the Ministry of Health. Accurate diagnosis and screening ensure correct and effective treatment, the number of healthy staff is always above 95%, reducing the average rate of hospitalization in the medical area to 9.5 days/case.

Every year, the Facility proactively develops a plan to coordinate with hospitals and preventive medical centers in Nam Tu Liem District to provide consultation, examination, treatment of opportunistic diseases, health care, HIV and TB screening tests, etc. for students periodically. Regularly monitor health and advise students on how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

At the same time, the Facility has also developed plans and strategies to prevent seasonal and emerging epidemics, actively carried out propaganda and education on measures to prevent HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, infectious diseases and other epidemics, regularly checked environmental hygiene, food safety, industrial hygiene... to prevent epidemics. Environmental sanitation is regularly concerned such as: Spraying disinfectants 2 to 3 times a week to immediately prevent epidemics, insects... in the entire unit.

Along with daily health care for students, weekly plans are made to organize cultural and sports activities such as soccer, shuttlecock, badminton, volleyball... activities are practiced at suitable locations in the student accommodation area with the aim of improving health and physical fitness.

"Clean vegetable garden, safe food"

During the treatment process for students, the Center always determines that taking care of the physical and mental health of students undergoing addiction treatment is an important and key task because only then will students have the health to practice, work and study well. Looking back on the journey of previous years, the gardens of grass and wild plants growing wildly mixed with sand, gravel, and bricks and stones are now the Center has switched to growing vegetables with the model of the "Clean Vegetable Garden" movement with a total planting area of over 3000 m2, essential vegetables such as: water spinach, jute, amaranth, Malabar spinach, squash, chayote, mugwort... vegetables are always green in every season, adding a source of life to the staff and students in the unit.

Recognizing the importance of using safe and clean food sources for staff and students is very important. The facility has encouraged staff and students to build vegetable gardens to provide clean vegetables to ensure daily meals for staff and students. The stages of growing clean vegetables are quite meticulous, requiring the caretaker to be skillful and careful, starting from choosing high, airy land, then choosing a source of unpolluted irrigation water.

Seed selection is also very important, largely determining the productivity and efficiency of cultivation. Seed selection must be of clear origin and imported seeds must be quarantined. Using organic fertilizers combined with biological products to control pests and diseases properly contributes to ensuring quality as well as the criteria of "clean vegetables" when harvesting. Harvesting vegetables at the right time, according to requirements, through the classification and cleaning stages, transporting them to the staff and student kitchens according to standards and quality. Therefore, the quality of the annual harvest is relatively high. In 2022, the output of vegetables imported by the Facility for the staff and student kitchens reached 7,200 kg, including vegetables and tubers that met and exceeded the set target.

In addition to providing green vegetables, the Facility also focuses on fruit trees such as papaya, banana, grapefruit, star fruit... because growing these types of fruit trees brings high nutritional value, providing the human body with many nutrients such as protein, fat, minerals and many other vitamins.

The “Clean Vegetable Garden” movement at the Facility has been enthusiastically supported by staff and students because it not only brings spiritual value but also creates material wealth from their own sweat and effort, while ensuring food hygiene and safety. In addition, it also promotes sanitation, creates a green - clean - beautiful environment, the campus is airy and fresh according to the motto: “Training like the army, Education like a school, Treatment like a hospital, Clean and beautiful like a park”.

For students being treated at the facility, participating in labor is the key to success, helping them better understand the value of labor because labor creates material wealth, appreciate their labor, and thereby determine to give up drugs and reintegrate into the community and society.
