It is known that this pangolin was voluntarily handed over by a resident named Dao Van Chien from group 3, area 3, Ha Long City. Through initial examination, the rescue team said that this pangolin had a serious injury in its hind leg, and was in poor health and needed to be quickly brought to the rescue center in Cuc Phuong for care.
On the same day, the pangolin was safely brought to Cuc Phuong National Park and is currently receiving intensive care at the Cuc Phuong Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation Program.
Also on May 16, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms of Cuc Phuong National Park coordinated with Vu Quang National Park (Ha Tinh province) to release 4 red-faced monkeys and 10 pig-tailed monkeys back into the wild at Vu Quang National Park and transferred 6 yellow-cheeked peacocks and 4 white pheasants to Vu Quang National Park for breeding and conservation.

Previously, from April 27 to 30, Cuc Phuong National Park continuously rescued hundreds of turtles. Specifically, the Park received and rescued 97 mute turtles (scientific name: Mauremys mutica); 1 Pulkin's tortoise (scientific name: Cyclemys pulchristriata); and 36 other turtles of 7 species, all of which are endangered and rare wild animals protected by law (in groups IB and IIB in Decree No. 06/2019/ND-CP and Decree 84/2021/ND-CP of the Government.
