In early August, heavy rains caused floods and landslides, causing damage to both the lives and property of the State and people. The work of overcoming the consequences of floods and landslides and supporting victims of natural disasters is being urgently carried out. With the participation of the entire political system, localities in the whole province have firmly overcome natural disasters, quickly stabilizing life and production.

Immediately after the disaster, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and the Working Group were present promptly, inspected, encouraged and directed Than Uyen district and affected localities in the whole province to quickly overcome the consequences of the disaster. Accordingly, the districts have implemented many synchronous solutions to evacuate people from areas at risk of natural disasters, visit families with casualties due to floods and storms and overcome the consequences, maintain the operation of traffic routes; strengthen flood and landslide warnings.
Than Uyen is one of the areas most severely affected in terms of people and property, with up to 7 casualties in this flood. Of which: 4 people died (in Ta Mung commune and Khoen On commune), 3 people were injured in Che Hang village and Mui 1 village. Heavy rain in the area also caused damage to houses and property of 25 households in the communes of Muong Cang, Khoen On, Muong Kim, Ta Hua, Ta Mung. Soil, rocks buried and floodwaters swept away hundreds of hectares of rice and crops of the people. In addition, the locality recorded great damage to traffic, irrigation works and other public works. The work of overcoming the consequences is being urgently and effectively deployed.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Chairman of the District People's Committee said: The District and Commune Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command has mobilized staff to visit and encourage households with injured and dead relatives. Directing units to organize landslide cleaning, ensuring traffic routes are open. Strengthening propaganda and warning people to raise awareness and prevention skills. Notifying people during peak periods of floods not to fish, collect firewood on rivers, streams, lakes, not to go to the fields; arranging people at landslide sites to support and warn.

All levels and sectors join hands to protect and relocate people's assets out of areas at risk of natural disasters.

The recent floods caused significant damage to the transport network throughout the province. Specialized agencies have directed traffic safety units to proactively take many solutions to urgently overcome the incident. Warning barriers have been installed at landslide locations, landslide area tarpaulins have been covered, positive slopes have been dug up, and ditches along the bridge head have been filled to widen the roadbed to ensure vehicle width at Km198+289 QL.4H. To ensure safety for vehicles traveling through the M2 bridgehead, a proposed plan is to arrange 5-7 layers of steel cages on the bedrock, and fill in soil to restore the landslide roadbed and the reinforced concrete bridge tail.
For the location of km14+800 of Provincial Road 129 (Hong Thu Commune, Sin Ho District) with serious landslides, the specialized agency has directed temporary traffic diversion in other directions, and at the same time developed a plan to fix it. Currently, the road has been temporarily reopened. For the remaining routes, the Department of Transport has directed construction units to urgently clean up landslides to ensure traffic, and continue to be on duty 24/7 to promptly deploy measures to ensure traffic safety when landslides occur. Up to now, the traffic routes have basically reopened. The remaining routes, National Highway 279D, DT.132, DT.127, DT.133, DT.134, have resumed operations with the efforts of specialized agencies and the support of the people. Through handling landslides on traffic routes, it shows that all levels, sectors, professional agencies and localities have flexibly applied the "4 on-site" motto in responding to natural disasters.
In addition to overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, supporting families in distress is one of the practical tasks. Up to now, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial and District Children's Support Fund, and the Red Cross at all levels have coordinated with local authorities to organize many volunteer groups to visit and encourage families and localities affected by floods. Organizations, individuals, and volunteer groups have organized many groups to visit and support money, goods, and other necessities, with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND, to families affected by natural disasters. Mr. Phung Tien Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ta Mung commune shared: Ta Mung commune is one of the localities heavily affected by natural disasters. In recent days, the commune has promoted the spirit of overcoming difficulties and proactively responding to natural disasters. The timely attention, visits, and sharing of leaders at all levels, organizations, and individuals have helped people here to be more steadfast in overcoming natural disasters.
Currently, the weather is complicated, the work of preventing and combating natural disasters needs special attention. In particular, it is necessary to prevent, promptly respond, urgently overcome the consequences; promote volunteer activities; visit and encourage areas where people are affected by natural disasters. In the process of implementation, continue to strengthen the leadership and direction of local Party committees and authorities, promote the strength of the entire political system in preventing and responding to natural disasters.
