In her opening speech at the conference, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chau, Principal of Nguyen Chi Thanh Political School, affirmed: The past half century has been a long journey full of milestones in the process of building and developing Hue City. The scientific conference is an opportunity to look back more clearly at the historical value of the victory in the campaign to liberate Thua Thien Hue (now Hue City) in the spring of 1975, contributing to the victory of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, liberating the South, unifying the country, and bringing the nation into a new era.

Organizing the scientific conference "50 years of liberation of Thua Thien Hue - The process of construction and development March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025" is very necessary. This is an opportunity to look back at the great contributions of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Thua Thien Hue in the cause of national liberation, construction and development of the homeland; at the same time, it is also an opportunity to look back at the leadership of the Party Committee, the determination of the entire political system and the people of Hue City in the process of construction and development of Hue City under the Central Government.

The workshop attracted 25 presentations from leaders of units, scientists, staff and lecturers in the school. The presentations were divided into two topics: "50 years of liberation of Hue City - The epic of freedom and unification" and "Hue City develops rapidly and sustainably, worthy of its position as a centrally-governed urban area, creating, innovating and developing sustainably".

Notably, topic 2 attracted 19 articles assessing the impact of Resolution 54-NQ/TW dated December 10, 2019 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, on the economic, cultural, social, urban and environmental fields of Thua Thien Hue. Analyzing the role of Party Committees at all levels in concretizing and implementing Resolution 54; assessing the effectiveness of the operations of governments at all levels, administrative reform, improving state management capacity; assessing the role of cadres, party members and the participation of people from all walks of life, socio-political organizations, etc. in the process of implementing the Resolution.

At the same time, analyze the effectiveness of breakthrough solutions in economic, cultural, social, urban, infrastructure, environmental development, and improving people's quality of life; draw lessons from the implementation of Resolution 54; determine the direction, goals, tasks and solutions for Hue City's development in the new period.
