On the morning of August 24, in the Hoang Sa waters, Chinese Navy Coast Guard Ship 4110 handed over two distressed fishermen to Ship 952, Squadron 311, Brigade 161, Vietnam Navy Region 3.

Previously, on August 14, two fishermen, Pham Tan Thanh and Nguyen Kinh, went on fishing boat KH 93159 TS from Nha Trang City (did not report departure when departing) to transport Korean repairmen to a Korean cargo ship for repairs (cannot remember the location and name of the Korean ship).

On the way back to shore, due to bad weather, at 8:00 a.m. on August 18, the ship sank 68 nautical miles south of Tri Ton Island. The two fishermen brought food onto a small coconut boat and drifted at sea. When they saw Tri Ton Island, the two fishermen rowed towards the island and reached the beach at noon on August 22.
Receiving the fishermen in distress, officers and soldiers of Ship 952 checked their health, provided medical care and encouraged the two fishermen. Currently, the two fishermen are mentally stable and in good health. Ship 952 is expected to dock in Da Nang on the morning of August 25. Naval Region 3 will hand over the two fishermen to the Border Guard and local authorities according to regulations.

The two fishermen who were injured were: Mr. Pham Tan Thanh, born in 1965, residing at 122 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Phuoc Dong Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, and Mr. Nguyen Kinh, born in 1972, residing at 63 Street No. 2, Phuoc Dong Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.
