(NLDO) - Authorities are urgently searching for three fishermen missing at sea after their fishing boat sank.


On the morning of March 19, speaking with a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, a leader of Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province said that authorities are urgently searching for fishermen on fishing boat NA-80209-TS that went missing due to the sinking of the ship.

Previously, at around 6:30 p.m. on March 18, Lach Quen Border Control Station, Quynh Thuan Border Post received a report from Mr. Pham Dang (Van Hai Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province), the owner of fishing boat NA-80209-TS, saying that at 6:00 p.m. on the same day, fishing boat NA-80209-TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, was sinking on its way into the creek. The location of the sunken boat was determined to be nearly 20 nautical miles from shore, about 5 nautical miles east of Mat Island.

At this time, on the ship, in addition to the captain, there were 3 fishermen: Tran Van Huu (born in 1995), Le Tuan Anh (born in 2005), both residing in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district) and Bui Sy Nhat (born in 1977, residing in Thuan Long commune, Quynh Luu district).

"By the morning of March 19, authorities found fisherman Tran Van Huu wearing a life jacket and drifting at sea, while the remaining three fishermen are still missing," said the leader of Quynh Luu district.

Currently, the search for the missing fishermen is being actively deployed by authorities.
