VPUB - Opening of the 13th National Tug of War Championship 2025

Dienbien.gov.vn - On the morning of March 19, at the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium, the Department of Physical Training and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) coordinated with Dien Bien province to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 13th National Tug of War Championship in 2025.

Comrade Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech.

The 2025 National Tug of War Championship is the 4th of 5 tournaments that Dien Bien province is honored to host. The tournament has 19 delegations with over 500 officials, coaches, and athletes competing in 36 events, including 18 indoor events and 18 outdoor events. The tournament brings together most of the best tug of war athletes from provinces and cities across the country. This is also an important tournament, carefully prepared for the delegations to select and prepare their forces to participate in the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee said: With the responsibility of being the host locality, Dien Bien has prepared the best conditions in terms of facilities, equipment, and competition grounds to serve the organization of the tournament. The scenario, security and order plan, health care, reception and logistics have also been carefully prepared. He hopes that with the spirit of "Sports - solidarity - honesty - nobility - progress", the athletes will compete with all their might to serve the audience and are determined to achieve high results.

Through the tournament, athletes have the opportunity to interact, learn, and exchange experiences, while strengthening solidarity, maintaining political stability, ensuring national defense and security, contributing to further promoting the development of national sports in general and Tug of War in particular. Thereby, improving the physical strength, stature, and spiritual and cultural life of the people.

The tournament will take place over 8 days (March 19-26). The closing ceremony is expected to be held on the afternoon of March 26./.
