Box office observers and those in the Japanese film industry are currently placing high expectations on the upcoming anime blockbuster Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training directed by Haruo Sotozaki this year, although the film has not yet posted any new promotional information. After the fourth season of the TV series Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training ended, Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training - the latest film - will continue the story, bringing to the screen the long battles from the manga.

"Big guy" Toho, the unit that released the first film version, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train , with the resounding commercial success of the work (earning more than 500 million USD in global ticket sales), has placed high expectations on the next film version. During a press conference in late December 2024, Toho announced many important revenue milestones of the company, the highlight of which fell on the plan to release Demon Slayer this year, according to Mantan Web .

Observers even confidently predicted that the Demon Slayer trilogy would "stir up" the Japanese box office and create unexpected milestones.

Toho CEO Ichikawa Minami told the media that the Japanese film industry is expected to generate around 200 billion yen in revenue in 2024 (including Japanese films and imported foreign films). Of this, Toho will generate an astonishing 91-92 billion yen. This figure has surpassed the 85.4 billion yen that Toho achieved in 2016, when the blockbuster anime Your Name was released.

Also based on the announced revenue figures, observers believe that Toho's "trump card" this year - Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will make a splash. Because with the previous successes of the film version, the latest trilogy promises, and it will not be surprising, if it continues to win at the box office, as well as reach new milestones. It is likely that Toho will "monopolize" this animation market this year.

Mitsutaka Yoshida, one of the staff working at Toho, believes that the first film of this franchise saved the Japanese film industry after the pandemic. In recent times, when the Demon Slayer franchise continued to adapt the original manga chapters into popular seasons, attracting a certain audience, it gradually created a more solid position for the upcoming films.

Season 4 of the franchise ended with the demon lord Muzan trapping the demon slayers into the Infinite City - a space created by his henchmen. The latest movie will continue this development with the battle between the demon slayers and Muzan inside the infinite space. In the original manga, the Infinite City story arc is the longest with a total of 47 chapters.
