On October 11, in Hanoi, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) held a conference to review the work of the first 9 months of the year and identify solutions and tasks to complete the targets and tasks of 2024, and orient the development of plans for 2025. The conference took place under the chairmanship of Comrade Le Anh Son, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Comrade Nguyen Canh Tinh, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of the Corporation.

Reporting at the Conference, Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung said that the business activities of the entire Corporation in the first 9 months of 2024 have achieved many positive results, all indicators have grown, exceeding the set plan. Specifically, VIMC 's maritime transport output reached 13.5 million tons; cargo throughput through the port reached 109 million tons; total revenue of VIMC reached 19,201 billion VND; total profit of VIMC reached 4,282 billion VND (equivalent to 204% compared to the same period in 2023 and 119% of the plan for 2024).

Seaport operations recorded higher growth than the national average, especially at joint venture ports such as CMIT and SSIT. The ports of Da Nang, Quy Nhon, SSIT, and CMIT continued to welcome new container service routes, helping to increase output and revenue. VIMC's seaport investment projects also achieved important progress. Notably, VIMC completed the signing of the JVA to establish a joint venture to operate container terminals No. 3 and 4, and established the Can Gio International Transit Port Project Development Company. Regarding maritime transport activities, VIMC closely monitored market developments to direct member enterprises to provide timely solutions to ensure business efficiency. In addition, VIMC also liquidated ships and invested in new fleets when the market was favorable. In addition, VIMC promoted new business activities outside of traditional fields, bringing in positive revenue and contributing positively to the total revenue of the Corporation. Regarding human resource development and innovation, VIMC has established a culture of continuous learning through international training courses and nearly 200 internal training courses across the system. In the first 9 months of 2024, VIMC achieved about 1,250 innovation initiatives, successfully applied, bringing an estimated value of 52 billion VND. At the same time, VIMC also standardized 32 SOP processes in the fields of administration, exploitation and customer service, improving operational efficiency and service quality. In the context of increasingly fierce market competition and increasing customer demands, developing a business production plan for 2025 has become especially important. At the conference, VIMC Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung presented the context and orientation for developing the 2025 business production plan of the Corporation and its member enterprises. On that basis, the leaders of the Corporation and its member enterprises exchanged and discussed the current business situation, proposing specific solutions to promote the completion of assigned targets and tasks in 2024. At the same time, the delegates also focused on discussing the orientation of building the 2025 plan, in order to create a solid foundation for the sustainable and effective development of the Corporation in the coming time.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of VIMC directly listened to and discussed with business leaders. The opinions and suggestions of the businesses were recorded and VIMC leaders gave specific instructions, clearly assigning responsibilities for each issue. At the same time, to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness, member businesses were required to conduct a thorough analysis of the market situation, thereby building and implementing business strategies focusing on two main goals: promoting market development and applying modern technology to improve operational efficiency and enhance competitiveness. The year 2024 is gradually coming to an end, and VIMC is preparing for a year 2025 with many important events, especially the 30th anniversary of its establishment (April 29, 1995 - April 29, 2025). To mark this milestone, at the Conference, VIMC officially launched a series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines.
