Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin co-chaired the Vietnam - Russia High-Level Business Dialogue.

At the dialogue, businesses from both countries shared the results of cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy, transportation, logistics, agriculture and construction. Representing Vietnamese enterprises, Mr. Le Anh Son, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC), pointed out some shortcomings in the field of logistics and transportation between Vietnam and Russia such as: high domestic transportation costs in Russia, logistics infrastructure not meeting the trade needs between the two countries... To solve this problem, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of VIMC proposed opening direct sea transport service routes connecting major ports in Vietnam with Russia. This solution is expected to reduce transit costs, shorten transportation time and promote bilateral trade. At the same time, Chairman of VIMC Le Anh Son also emphasized the importance of investing in seaport infrastructure and logistics in both countries to facilitate the smooth flow of trade. On the part of VIMC, Chairman of the Board of Directors Le Anh Son expressed his desire to cooperate with Russian maritime partners to design comprehensive service packages, including trade activities, warehousing and transportation of commodities such as coal and ore. The goal is to connect with large state-owned corporations in Vietnam such as EVN and PVN to meet the demand for raw materials for key industries. Regarding logistics and transportation, the Prime Minister said that breakthrough cooperation directions are sea routes, railways, and subways, including connecting railway lines, cooperation in technology, management, human resource training, and production of train cars, etc.Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin assessed that Vietnam has become an important logistics center.
On the Russian side, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin affirmed that the Russian Government is very interested in logistics issues and appreciates Vietnam's role as an important logistics center in the region. Russia wishes and is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to promote logistics infrastructure connectivity. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that the Russian Government is always ready to create favorable conditions to support Vietnamese enterprises to expand their operations and seize opportunities in the Russian Federation, continuing the tradition of good relations between the two countries. Russian Prime Minister Mishustin said that he will continue to build favorable and stable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises with incentives on tariffs, finance, land, etc. Concluding the dialogue, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam has just issued a decree on the establishment, management and use of the Investment Support Fund. Therefore, he hopes that Russian enterprises will continue to expand their investment in Vietnam, especially in the fields of infrastructure, energy, transportation and logistics. Committing to the two governments' support in removing obstacles, the Prime Minister hoped that businesses of the two countries would also promote their intelligence, take advantage of time and determination to promote investment cooperation, for sustainable development and common prosperity for both countries.
