Writing, drawing Nguyen Nhat Anh and I: Gen Z, Alpha, U60 because Mr. Anh's books are like a sweet stream

Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh presents the prize to the reader who won first prize in the writing contest.

On March 23, Tre Publishing House held an award ceremony to summarize the Nguyen Nhat Anh and I 2024 contest, which took place from October 10, 2024 to January 10, 2025.

Participants in the writing contest will share their memories and feelings about the works of writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. For the drawing contest, participants will draw illustrations or fan art of characters and settings inspired by Nguyen Nhat Anh's works.

Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, artist Duc Lam, and Tre Publishing House awarded prizes to readers who won writing and drawing prizes in the 2024 "Nguyen Nhat Anh and I" contest with 731 entries submitted within 3 months.

Growing up with Nguyen Nhat Anh's books

Ms. Thu Ha said that the Nguyen Nhat Anh and I 2024 contest received enthusiastic response from readers from all over the country.

Among the participants were children of primary school age, as well as people in their sixties.

Some people are new to Nguyen Nhat Anh's books, while others have been loyal readers of the writer for decades, collecting all published books and participating in many related competitions and events.

"Many people shared that during the challenging years of family circumstances and illness, Nguyen Nhat Anh's books were like a sweet stream, bringing pure joy and lighting up hope for the future. We felt sincere emotions when reading the test papers you sent in," said Ms. Ha.

Following this contest, Tre Publishing House will also release a collection of writings called Growing Up with Nguyen Nhat Anh's Books, including writing and drawing entries selected from more than 730 entries.

The record for most entries is held by a child with 17 drawings.

Critic Van Gia, representative of the final judging panel of the writing competition, believes that the power of Nguyen Nhat Anh's literature to conquer readers probably lies in the abundant and pure source of good roots in people.

The drawing contest of Bui Nhat Phuc Anh (HCMC) inspired by the work "Making friends with the sky" won first prize in the drawing contest.

"In turn, readers, thanks to such pages, the "seeds of the soul" of kindness that have been lying dormant for so long are awakened and multiplied in many miraculous and touching ways.

"The source of goodness is in the author, in the character, in the reader, all combine and harmonize to become a harmony of beauty" - Mr. Van Gia said.

According to artist Duc Lam, representative of the final judging panel of the drawing contest, most of the entries clearly show the personality of each author:

"The love and admiration for idol Nguyen Nhat Anh is carefully nurtured through each stroke, rich and diverse color composition, with many different materials: watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, ballpoint pen, iron pen and even drawing on the computer."

Mr. Lam said that after 3 months of launching, the contest received 330 entries. Among them were many elementary school students, the oldest was U60. Notably, the record for the most entries was a young person with 17 entries.

The Nguyen Nhat Anh and I 2024 contest includes 2 categories: writing and drawing.

Each table has 9 official prizes awarded by the jury, including 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 5 fourth prizes.

In addition, each table also has 1 impressive award, voted by readers online.
