'Van Quyet is always in my personnel plan'

" Van Quyet was suspended for 8 matches last season but he still showed good performance. After working for a while, I cannot confirm how to use Van Quyet. But I confirm that he is always in my personnel plan ," Mr. Troussier commented on the Hanoi FC striker.

Van Quyet is one of the players on the shortlist of the Vietnam team heading to the friendly match with Palestine.

This striker was called up by Mr. Troussier in the March training session. However, that training session was only to get acquainted with the new philosophy of the head coach.

Mr. Troussier affirmed to create opportunities for all players towards the common goal of participating in the 2023 World Cup.

" We have the idea but we need to execute it better," he said. There are many opinions about the team's poor performance and lack of cohesion. Mr. Troussier expressed: " We push each other to develop every day. However, we need to look at the foundation of Vietnamese players and football. Currently, they are lacking in the quality of passes and the ability to receive the ball. I hope that the coaches at the youth level will help and improve these basic factors.

Many people expect the players who work with me to improve immediately. But I try to choose those who have more complete qualities than the rest of the group. There are many ways to overcome this. It is important that they are disciplined and know how to listen, so I give them instructions to do better. The players also understand my intentions ."

Mr. Troussier added that players need to increase their exposure to higher levels and actively compete abroad. In addition, there is also the need to upgrade facilities and stadiums to aim for the World Cup.
