Thanks to Unity PolySpatial, developers on Unity can create new experiences for visionOS, blurring the line between digital content and the real world.
Unity (NYSE: U), the world's leading real-time 3D (RT3D) content creation and development platform, announced the launch of a beta program for visionOS with access to Unity PolySpatial.
With the built-in Unity Editor, creators can build experiences on visionOS and take advantage of the amazing features of Apple Vision Pro. By combining Unity’s new PolySpatial technology with Apple’s RealityKit app rendering capabilities, content created in Unity will have a consistent look and feel across other apps in visionOS.
Unity has worked closely with Apple to provide support for visionOS and PolySpatial, so users will be able to experience their favorite Unity apps in all the new spatial environments brought to them by Apple Vision Pro right from the start. Developers interested in joining the beta program can visit www.unity.com/spatial.
Creators can now create entirely new experiences as well as port existing experiences to visionOS, and preview directly from Unity Editor via Apple Vision Pro for rapid iteration.
The new authoring workflow makes it easy for developers to seamlessly blend content into the real world, while powerful input tools provide a natural and intuitive way for users to control their content on Vision Pro with just their eyes and hands.
“We are excited to partner with Apple to help millions of app and game developers in the ecosystem bring their Unity apps to this exciting new platform,” said Ralph Hauwert, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Unity Runtime, Editor, and Ecosystems. “With Unity PolySpatial, we will help developers create completely new immersive experiences more efficiently and more streamlined, using the Editor they know and love. This is core to our promise to give developers the ability to create once and publish to any platform.”
