On December 21, the International Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science of Dong A University (IAD) in collaboration with the Danang Investment Promotion and Support Board organized an international conference "Responsible Artificial Intelligence and its applications in the integrated circuit industry, manufacturing and healthcare".
The conference took place in both in-person and online formats at Vietnamese and international locations. Of which, 10 thematic reports were presented by experts from 7 countries around the world: the United States, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, China and Vietnam. At the same time, the conference also had the participation of artificial intelligence (AI) enterprises in Vietnam, scholars from research institutes, university lecturers, and students from faculties specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS).
Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, President of Dong A University, commented that along with the great opportunities and potential that AI brings in reshaping industries and opening the door to unprecedented efficiency, precision and capabilities, AI also poses significant challenges for society. It is necessary to ensure that AI is not abused for malicious purposes and does not threaten human privacy and safety. Therefore, the development of AI needs to be strictly controlled by regulations on data governance, ethics, transparency and responsible deployment of AI.
Chaired by leading professors in the field of AI&DS, many in-depth opinions on responsible applications of artificial intelligence in the three fields of integrated circuit industry, manufacturing, and healthcare. From there, recommendations and policy proposals are made to guide the development of AI in the new era. Specifically, transparent sequential learning to track data flows; challenges and opportunities of human-centered AI for trustworthy robots and autonomous systems; artificial intelligence for smart manufacturing in industry 5.0 such as: Methods, applications in the semiconductor industry and challenges;...
At the workshop, Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Deputy Director of the Danang Investment Promotion and Support Board, mentioned some strengths in human resources, infrastructure, preferential policies, investment attraction (existing and to be built in the near future) and development orientation in the field of information technology in general and in the field of artificial intelligence, microchips, semiconductors in particular in Danang.
This workshop is expected to be a space for connecting and exchanging interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scientific knowledge, sharing diverse aspects that shape new directions and creative solutions to promote sustainable development.
