DNVN – On November 22, Dong A University, in collaboration with the Korea Foundation (KF) Office in Hanoi and Korea Cyber University of Foreign Studies, co-organized the workshop “Korean language education in Central Vietnam in the context of a hyper-connected society”.
This is the first academic forum in the Central region on Korean language education and also the 41st international scientific conference organized by Dong A University in collaboration with research institutes, universities, organizations, scientists and experts from home and abroad.

Chief Representative of the Korea Foundation (KF) Office in Hanoi Woo Hyung Min said that in Vietnam, there are currently 46 universities nationwide that have established Korean Language and Korean Studies majors, with more than 25,000 students studying. Notably, in 2021, Korean became one of the first foreign languages and is being taught on a pilot basis in junior high and high schools nationwide.
The workshop “Korean language education in Central Vietnam in the context of a hyper-connected society” is an opportunity to discuss appropriate Korean language teaching methods in the context of Korean language education in Vietnam being increasingly developed and the demand for learning Korean is increasing, improving quality is a prerequisite for sustainable development.
According to Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh - Vice President of Dong A University, in today's hyper-connected society, technology and artificial intelligence are increasingly penetrating every aspect of life, from academia, research to teaching. Not only lecturers and students, but also teaching and learning support tools are being upgraded, helping to erase geographical distances, creating conditions for knowledge to be spread more widely than ever.
Online learning platforms, real-time online learning classes, or VOD courses – learning through video lectures that students access through the KF Global e-School project of the Korea Foundation (KF) taught by professors at the Korean Foreign Language Cyber University… are living proof of the power of a hyper-connected society in education.
Ms. Lim Bora - Consular Counselor, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Da Nang said that in 2023, out of about 3.6 million Koreans coming to Vietnam, about 40% (equivalent to 1.415 million people) visited Da Nang. And in the first 9 months of 2024, about 1.26 million Koreans visited this city. It is expected that the total number of bilateral exchanges between the two countries this year will reach about 5.18 million.
“Therefore, close cooperation on immigration and residence between the people of the two countries needs to be maintained and further promoted. The Korean Consulate General in Da Nang will continue to make efforts to promote cooperation and share information with Korean businesses and relevant organizations about excellent universities in the region,” said Ms. Lim Bora.
