Foreign exchange rates today January 21: Banks adjust to reduce USD selling price, NDT exchange rate increases slightly

DNVN - The exchange rate of the Vietnamese Dong (VND) against the US Dollar (USD) on January 21 at banks continued to decrease, while the exchange rate of the Chinese Yuan (CNY) recorded a new increase.

Foreign exchange price on January 19, 2025: USD reverses to decrease

Specifically, the State Bank announced the central exchange rate this morning, down 5 VND compared to January 20, currently reaching 24,336 VND/USD. According to the +/-5% band, the ceiling and floor exchange rates are currently determined at 25,553 VND/USD and 23,119 VND/USD, respectively. The reference exchange rate at the State Bank's Transaction Office remains unchanged at 23,400 VND/USD for buying and 25,450 VND/USD for selling.

For commercial banks, updated at 8:29, Vietcombank adjusted the USD exchange rate to 25,140 - 25,500 VND/USD (buy - sell), down 10 VND in both directions compared to yesterday morning. At BIDV, the USD price was maintained at 25,145 - 25,505 VND/USD (buy - sell), unchanged compared to January 20.

Regarding the CNY, after a series of consecutive decreases, this morning the exchange rate has turned to increase at banks. Vietcombank announced the CNY exchange rate this morning at 3,414 - 3,523 VND/CNY (buy - sell), an increase of 10 VND compared to January 20. At BIDV, the CNY buying price increased by 11 VND, the selling price increased by 12 VND, currently listed at 3,431 - 3,536 VND/CNY (buy - sell).
