According to the report of the General Statistics Office, Ministry of Finance, in the first two months of 2025, nearly 56,900 enterprises temporarily suspended business, an increase of 15.5% over the same period last year.
At the same time, nearly 6,400 enterprises stopped operating pending dissolution procedures, down 36.3%; nearly 3,800 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, up 10.3%. On average, more than 33,500 enterprises withdrew from the market each month.
In February, the country had more than 10,100 newly established enterprises with a registered capital of nearly 136.4 trillion VND and a registered number of more than 59.1 thousand employees, down 4.9% in the number of enterprises, up 45.0% in registered capital and down 27.5% in the number of employees compared to January 2025. Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 34.4%, the registered capital increased by more than 2.1 times and the number of employees decreased by 23.3%.
The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached VND13.5 billion, 1.5 times higher than the previous month and nearly 1.6 times higher than the same period last year. In addition, the country also had nearly 7,100 enterprises returning to operation, down 69.1% compared to the previous month and up 32.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
Also according to the General Statistics Office, in the first two months of 2025, the whole country had nearly 20.8 thousand newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of more than 230.4 thousand billion VND and a total registered number of nearly 140.7 thousand employees, down 8.9% in the number of enterprises, up 4.9% in registered capital and down 22.7% in the number of employees compared to the same period last year.
The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first two months of this year reached VND11.1 billion, up 15.1% over the same period in 2024. The total registered capital added to the economy in the first two months of the year was VND709.4 trillion, up 66.1% over the same period in 2024.
In addition, nearly 29.1 thousand enterprises nationwide returned to operation (up 53.2% over the same period in 2024), bringing the total number of newly established and returning enterprises in the first 2 months of 2025 to more than 49.8 thousand enterprises, up 19.3% over the same period in 2024. On average, more than 24.9 thousand enterprises were newly established and returned to operation per month.
