Implementing the plan to coordinate propaganda about sea and islands between Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the Naval Region 2 Command, on the morning of July 16, in Long My commune, Dat Do district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Brigade 171, Naval Region 2 organized propaganda about sea and islands for more than 120 cadres, party members and people in the commune.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Phuong, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Brigade 171, informed the cadres, party members and people of Long My commune about some main features of the sea and island situation in recent times; basic contents about the position, role and importance of Vietnam's sea and islands; historical and legal evidence of sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam; the core role of the Navy in the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; the viewpoints of our Party and State in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

Also during the propaganda session, the Brigade's propagandists distributed leaflets instructing fishermen on safe and sustainable fishing in Vietnam's sovereign waters, as well as information related to admission to the Naval Academy.

Since the beginning of 2024, Brigade 171 has organized more than 15 propaganda sessions on seas and islands in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Ho Chi Minh City with more than 3,000 participants. The propaganda activities have helped cadres, party members and people better understand the viewpoints, policies, guidelines and policies of our Party and State on the task of protecting sea and island sovereignty in the current period, while enhancing the role and responsibility of the people in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
