On February 21, 2025, in Cam Ranh City, the Navy held a conference to review and draw experience from the implementation of the "Greening Truong Sa" Program for the 2021-2024 period and deploy tasks for the 2025-2027 period.
The "Greening Truong Sa" program has been deployed by the Military Command since 2021 with the goal of improving the material and spiritual life of officers, soldiers and people on the islands of Truong Sa archipelago while protecting the environment and developing sustainably. Over the past 3 years, the program has achieved many remarkable results, contributing to creating a green, clean and beautiful living environment for soldiers and people here.

At the conference, the Command of Region 4 reported on the results of the implementation of the "Greening Truong Sa" Program for the period 2021-2024. Through coordination with localities, businesses and individuals in implementing the "Greening Truong Sa" program, in the period 2021-2024, more than 500,000 trees, more than 400 tons of fertilizer and nearly 3,000 tons of nutritious soil were planted and mobilized to support. Nurseries with nearly 30,000 trees were built. The total number of trees planted on the entire archipelago is nearly 90,000, including: coconut, casuarina, banyan, tra, mu u, mango, banyan and some other types of trees.
In the period of 2025-2027, the Command of Region 4 continues to direct the planning of land for tree planting, expanding tree nurseries for planting on the islands; proactively deploying the preparation of forces, means, and arranging forces when there is a plan to load and transport materials, carry soil, seedlings, and fertilizers for planting; organize planting and cover, windbreak, and wavebreak. Actively call on localities, agencies, and enterprises nationwide to propagate, mobilize, and support resources, especially materials for planting and caring for trees such as fertile soil, fertilizer, and technology. Deploy good and creative models to build a standard, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape on the islands.

Concluding the conference, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Commander of the Navy, praised the Command of Region 4 and the coordinating units for seriously grasping the direction of the Command of the Navy to effectively implement the Program. He affirmed: “The program “Greening Truong Sa” not only brings material and spiritual values but also demonstrates the sentiments and responsibilities of the whole country towards the work of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands and sacred continental shelf of the Fatherland. In the next phase, the Command of the Navy requests the Command of Region 4 to continue to closely coordinate with agencies, units and enterprises to successfully implement the set goals, contributing to building Truong Sa increasingly green, clean and beautiful”.
The program "Greening Truong Sa" is a major policy, continuing to need contributions and support from localities, businesses, organizations and individuals, compatriots nationwide, overseas Vietnamese towards Truong Sa with practical actions, material and spiritual support to contribute to the success of the Program.
