3 students from the Gifted High School won first prize in the national excellent student competition. Among them was Nguyen Hong Anh, a 10th grade literature major, first prize in the national literature competition, with the highest score nationwide.
This is also the first school year that the Gifted High School organized a closing event with the participation of all students studying at the school's two campuses, with a total of about 1,900 students.

At the closing ceremony, the Gifted High School awarded and honored students who received national and international awards in all fields in the 2023-2024 school year.
In the National High School Excellent Student Competition, the Gifted High School had a total of 58 students winning prizes, including 3 first prizes (math, biology and literature), 13 second prizes, 22 third prizes, and 20 consolation prizes.
Notably, Nguyen Hong Anh, a 10th grade literature major, won first prize in the national literature subject with the highest score nationwide. In addition, two groups of students from the school won a second prize and a third prize in the national science and technology competition for high school students.

From the results of the national excellent student selection, 5 students from the Gifted High School were called to participate in the second round of the national excellent student selection exam to select a team representing Vietnam to compete in regional and international Olympic competitions. Among them, Le Nguyen Huu An (grade 12 math student) is a member of the national team participating in the Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Informatics held in China from May 17 to May 20, 2024.
At the city-level competition, students from the specialized school under Ho Chi Minh City National University brought home 44 excellent student awards (in grade 12), including 8 second prizes and 36 third prizes; 17 awards at the city-level competition for excellent students solving math problems on handheld calculators, including 4 first prizes, 11 second prizes and 2 third prizes.
Students in grades 10 and 11 participating in the traditional Olympic competition on April 30 won 42 medals, including 25 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. Notably, there were valedictorians in grade 10 chemistry, grade 11 English and grade 11 informatics.
In the first round of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's Competency Assessment Exam, many students from the Gifted High School achieved very high scores, including one student who scored 1,053 points and was the valedictorian in Ho Chi Minh City.

Not only talented in academics, the talented young faces of the Gifted High School also achieved many outstanding achievements in sports and were honored and rewarded in the summary ceremony this morning.
For example, Thai Ngoc Tuong Minh (11th grade student of Social Sciences 2) is a reserve international grandmaster (November 2023) and a national grandmaster of the year (March 2024).
Nguyen Hoang My (11th grade student of Social Sciences 2) is in the top 6 of the 2023 World Youth Chess Championship (November 2023). Nguyen Dang Bao (11th grade student of English 1), champion of the national round of the German Olympic competition, will represent Vietnam in the world finals this July.

Speaking at the school year-end ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Principal of the Gifted High School, said that the 2023-2024 school year "is another school year that we are proud of together". Last year, out of a total of 1,908 students in the school, 1,880 students were classified as excellent/good (98.51 % ), there were no average students, and 1,905 students had good training results ( 99.84 %).
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai emphasized: "The development strategy for the period 2022-2025 of the Gifted High School has identified three missions of the school. First is a modern educational environment that is pioneering in nurturing and training talents and innovating in the management mechanism according to the autonomous model. Second, creating inspiration to explore interdisciplinary scientific fields and forming lifelong learning skills for students. And third, contributing quality learners to top universities in Vietnam and the world."
The 12th grade students of the Gifted High School received certificates of merit and gifts on the day of the school year's closing ceremony, saying goodbye to their student days.
Professor Mai affirmed: "The upcoming 2024-2025 school year will be a school year promoting digital transformation in teaching and learning activities. There will begin to be digital lectures using the blended learning method (a smart learning method, combining face-to-face and online learning - PV), online courses to convert university credits of member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University for students of Gifted High School, and students will have a more flexible schedule when they can freely choose subjects according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training".
Many students are admitted early to prestigious universities at home and abroad.
In the past school year, this specialized school joined the International Admissions Association IACAC to connect and cooperate to nominate scholarships directly from the principal for many excellent students to study at top universities in Asia and the world such as City University of Hong Kong, Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen, Tokyo International University, etc.
In the recent early university admissions, more than 20 Gifted High School students received 100% full scholarships and more than 100 students received partial scholarships from universities around the world, with a total estimated scholarship value of over 100 billion VND.
